The Ehrle KS1140 is a contained, neatly designed pressure washer that is intended for mounting on a wall or platform, such as a workbench. This 400V version of the KS range requires a 3-phase power supply. However, the additional power input comes with an extra juicy power output. Capable of pressures between 30-180BAR and a flow rate of 5-16LPM, the pressure and water flow are user controllable. Adjustable with one valve, this extra user control means the KS1140 is capable of cleaning much more than the heavy-duty stuff.
A nifty benefit of the KS1140 is its facility to intake water of up to 80°C in temperature. Kitted out with parts that are able to take warmer/hotter water gives the KS1140 additional cleaning potential. Like with many things, adding heat improves efficiency, and high-pressure cleaning is no different.
So long as you can provide a suitable hot water supply, able to keep up with the KS1140’s water demands, then the KS1140 can perform both cold and warm water cleaning.
The KS1140 is designed to be kept out of the way. Where other types of pressure washers can be clunky and bulky, the KS1140 can be mounted on a wall or platform, such as a workbench. Leaving space below it, the KS1140 can form something of a cleaning hub and, much like with the Ehrle HSC, we are often asked to fit other storage accessories. For example, below, above or to the sides of your KS, depending on your set-up and space, we could fit lance and gun holders and hose reels or holders, to help keep everything tidy. The KS1140 does not save space, it creates it.
The KS1140 is a popular choice with hygiene teams in various food industry facilities. Not only, as we have mentioned, is it capable of warm water cleaning, but it also boasts a chemical dosing system. The KS823 is able to feed detergent into the water as part of the high-pressure cleaning process.
For many pressure washers, high-pressure chemical dosing is not a function they can perform. The KS823, on the other hand, can. Saving time, cleaning does not have to stop while detergent is applied. Moreover, the precise amount of dosing can be neatly controlled. The benefit of this is saving time and detergent.
The KS1140 saves time in two ways. The first is that the detergent can be applied while pressures still remain at a level capable of breaking up grime. The number of passes one needs to make, to clean a surface, therefore, is reduced. The second is the lack of peripheral changes. Chemical dosing can be performed with the flick of a switch. Other forms of chemical dosing can require lance and other changes, which can take time.
The KS1140 saves detergent as you can apply chemicals at the level you need to. Due to hygiene standards, many companies can use litres and litres and litres of detergent every day. Having a pressure washer that is able to dose a precise level, reducing waste, can save litres and litres and litres of detergent.
The KS1140 also sports high-pressure chemical cleaning, with user control. What this means is that you can increase, decrease or halt the application of detergents while cleaning at high pressures. The advantage of this is simplicity, efficiency and control.
The KS1140 boasts a start-stop, total-stop and leakage recognition system, to improve safety, reliability and longevity.
Primarily a reliability system, the start-stop function on the KS1140 effectively turns your trigger gun into a remote control. The start-stop system is a semi-automatic function that switches tour KS1140 on and off whenever you press or release the trigger. The advantage of this is reduced energy usage and stress on the machine. Rather than running continuously, the pressure washer pauses each time you stop. The start-stop mechanism, therefore, is not reducing its usage time.
The total-stop system is primarily a safety system. It simply turns your pressure washer off after 20-minutes of disuse. Handy if somebody is distracted at work and forgets to switch the machine off, the system requires a conscious manual restart to get it going again.
Leakage recognition is what it says in the name. Linked to the total-stop system, this is a safety and reliability system that detects faults in your cleaning system. For example, if the KS1140–a high-powered pressure washer–were to suffer a leak, the leakage recognition system is designed to shut it down before it makes the fault worse and more costly.
Like a master craftsman, refining their tools, materials and techniques over time, Ehrle has done the same with their pressure washers. Simplifying the design of their prized triplex piston pump is one example of this. For example, this pump is used–in different sizes–across the KS, KD, HD and HSC ranges. All using similar materials, such as a ceramic piston, brass pump head and stainless steel valves, this approach not only improves build quality, but it makes sourcing replaceable parts and performing services much simpler, reducing costs.
