We have found over the years that the Ehrle 1140 specifications, be it HD or, in this instance, the KD1140, are the optimal builds. In a three-phase machine, such as the KD1140, the electrical input power is not bottlenecked like in a single-phase machine. The result of this is a drenching pressure (30 - 250 BAR) and water-flow (5 - 16.7 LPM) combination that maximises cleaning potential, making your high-pressure cleaning tasks an absolute breeze. (Just be sure to hold on tight!)
The Ehrle KD1140 has several handy devices and operations that extend their life and increase its reliability. (It's why we love them so much.) For instance, Ehrle’s prized triplex-piston pump design runs at a steady 1400RPM. Lowering demand on the moving parts, the lower RPM extends your pressure washer’s life. It also makes the pressure washer quieter! Long live the pump and long live your eardrums!
The Ehrle KD1140 further extends its life potential via many other systems too. The start-stop and total-stop controls, for example, decrease work and wear on the pump and its seals, meaning parts need replacing less frequently.
These same systems, the start-stop and total-stop, also bring increased convenience and safety. The start-stop system, for instance, effectively turns your trigger gun into a remote control, meaning longer pauses do not require a manual turning off and on of the pressure washer to reduce its workload. Instead, the system will do it for you saving the seals, pump and, importantly, your legs.
An overlooked space and time-saving feature of the KD1140, for instance, is its integrated storage and dosing systems (for more information on KD chemical application options please see *Standard vs Premium, what’s the difference? below). All KDs come with an integrated tank (Standard = Chemical 25L; Premium = Water-Break 35L) and moulded bodywork that facilitates the storage of your KD accessories.
The bodywork of a KD1140 can hold up to two lances and guns, and the rear of the pressure washer has a moulded power cable holder. The premium model also comes with a 15m hose-reel, making ravelling and unravelling your high-pressure hose easy peasy.
In addition to their unparalleled cleaning performance, the Ehrle KD range also boasts incredible utility on account of their chassis and wheel designs. Each KD sports a trolley-like design, with strong chassis and handle. However, they also feature rubber wheels. A minor detail, that is easily missed, the wheels and chassis design make the KD easy to transport across large, smooth or rough terrains.
The KD1140 is a three-phase/415V pressure washer. A significant difference between standard and premium KDs is the function of their integrated storage tank. On the standard model, for instance, the tank is intended for chemical/detergent. However, on the premium model, it is intended as a water break tank. Therefore, the number of external tanks required is reduced.
These subtle differences between tank types facilitate different capabilities. For example, the premium KD823, while requiring an external detergent tank, supports fully user-controllable chemical dosing at high pressures. In other words, you can not only apply chemicals at high and various pressures, but you can control just how much detergent you apply in cleaning.
The standard model, on the other hand, does not require a chemical tank to be transported with it. Instead, it stores the chemical in its integrated detergent tank. However, neither dosing nor high-pressure chemical application is available on the standard model.
The other differences between standard and premium models are peripheral, with the premium specification coming with several handy extras (see comparison table below).
